The Villa Govinda Ashram association based in Olgiate Molgora was founded in 2013 as the Italian branch of the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math International Mission founded by a great Indian saint and philosopher Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar. The association's aims are to promote universal spiritual values from the Vedic culture of ancient India such as the science of self-realization of the spiritual self, non-violence, vegetarian nutrition, tolerance and respect for every living being. The association works to spread these messages through the publication of books, internet communication with websites and social network profiles, public conferences, vegetarian nutrition courses, meditation meetings, kirtan and yoga courses. The ashram is a place open to all those interested in a path of spiritual research, regardless of cultural or religious background, and also to those who are simply curious to learn about an alternative way of living and thinking. Our community is based on the motto "Simple life and elevated thought" and on respect for every form of life. The parallel project Veg-soul promotes the culture of vegetarianism and self-production of food and a truly sustainable lifestyle through organic cultivation in the ashram's garden. Among the activities that take place in the ashram is the regular study of philosophy texts and the teachings of the masters that form the basis of spiritual practice. Krishna Kanta Devi Dasi and Munindra Mohan Das are among the founders of the ashram and among other services they have translated numerous texts of their masters as well as the "Bhagavad-gita" and the "Sri Brahma samhita" two of the fundamental texts of the spiritual culture of the Vedas.
